University of Texas at Arlington Partners with Revature to Provide Students and Alumni with a Direct Path to Technology Careers
February 8th, 2018 — RevatureRESTON, VA (February 8, 2018) – The University of Texas at Arlington and Revature, a leading technology talent development company, today announced a strategic partnership to provide UTA students with no-cost, hands-on technology training that will help prepare them to fill a demand for highly-skilled software engineers. The region has experienced rapid growth in the number of technology companies residing and expanding operations in the region, resulting in a gap in the workforce.
To meet the demand for top technology talent, Revature is partnering with UTA to offer intensive online and immersive coding programs – at no cost – to teach UTA students and recent graduates enterprise and emerging technology skills needed by companies in the DFW region seeking skilled employees. The partnership offers UTA students and alumni online and immersive in-person training that otherwise would cost thousands of dollars.
“UTA is proud to launch this partnership with Revature, as it will benefit students, alumni and our many industry partners in North Texas,” said UTA President Vistasp Karbhari. “Our students already graduate with academic and career preparation that makes them top candidates to fill the state’s ever-changing workforce needs. Working with Revature will ensure that our growing student population has new opportunities in the world of programming, project development and software that will continue to set them apart from other graduates without the additional financial burden.”
Those hired by Revature will become certified in the latest enterprise-level, next-gen and niche technologies, accelerating career opportunities as in-demand technology professionals. After completing training, Revature software engineers have the opportunity to work at some of the top Fortune 500 companies.
“The Dallas-Fort Worth area is quickly becoming a top emerging tech market in the country,” said Joe Mitchell, Executive Vice President of academic partnerships at Revature. “We are excited to be partnering with the University of Texas at Arlington and look forward to hiring many talented UTA graduates and building a diverse technology talent pool to support the region’s growth as it continues to gain momentum and become a technology hub.”
